The Clothesline Project is a program designed to address the issue of violence against women. It is a vehicle for women affected by violence to express their emotions by decorating a shirt. The shirts are displayed on a clothesline to be viewed by others as a testimony to the problem of violence against women. It has spread worldwide, and is returning to Kansas City through Newhouse.
The “unveiling” was Friday, Sept. 4 at Raygun T-shirts in the Crossroads. Newhouse appreciates the opportunity to raise awareness of Domestic Violence and share how the shelter serves women and children in the Kansas City Area.
The Clothesline Project will tour the city and bring awareness about domestic violence in the Kansas City community. If your business, school, organization, or church would like to host the Clothesline Project or learn more about Newhouse, call 816-474-6446.
